So if you happen to level a new alchemist on your new character and managed to get to 350 (and lvl 68), then you get to choose a specialization. I obviously wanted Elixir mastery since I understand that it is the most profitable one.

So I went to pick up the quest and as soon as I saw BM I died a little from the inside as I couldn't be bothered farming the rep so I dropped it. I then went to pick up Pot Mastery instead, I saw it involved BoT and dropped it also since no one seems to be running those instances anymore.

Hence I took up Transmutation Mastery and thought it might come in handy especially with the 3.2 patch for gems transmutations.

But it kinda saddened me that I wouldn't make any decent profit till 3.2 so I decided I'd drop the Transmutation Master specialization (which I had become) and do the Elixir quest with the help of a guild mate of mine.

So I went up to pick the quest and figured out that because I had become Transmute Master, I could become Elixir Master without doing the darn quest and thankfully I was right.

So, to summarized this all up:

1. Become Trans Master (4 Primal Mights like 50g on my server)
2. Drop It
3. Go to the Elixir Master in Shat or Pot Master in Zangarmash
4. Become one of the above with only 150g spend and no rep farming effort

This is for people leveling alts or stuck on a Mastery they do not want. I am pretty sure it is old and all, but sometimes the simplest of things can be overlooked.

As a side note, you need to go to your current mastery trainer to drop it before you can take up a new alchemy specialization of your choice.

This Alchemy PowerLeveling guide is by Highlander who is from EU-Terenas server. I've tried it myself and it works beautifully but success can vary + or - a few skill levels depending on your luck.

301 - 315
Volatile Healing Potion (1 x Golden Sansam, 1 x Felweed, 1 x Imbued Vial) x 20
N.B.You can make Major Mana Potions up to this point if you prefer. You'll need to make about 25 though.

316 - 330
Sneaking Potion (2 x Ragveil, 1 x Felweed, 1 x Imbued Vial) x 20

331 - 350
Super Healing Potion (2 x Dreaming Glory, 1 x Felweed, 1 x Imbued Vial) x 20

351 - 375
Major Dreamless Sleep Potion (1 x Dreaming Glory, 1 x Nightmare Vine, 1 x Imbued Vial) x 40
Goes green at 370, but it's easier to skill up on this, now that it's in the game, than use low drop rate recipes or faction rewards.
Can be bought from Leeli Longhaggle in Allerian Stronghold (Terokkar Forest) for Alliance and from Daga Ramba in Thunderlord Stronghold (Blade's Edge Mountains) for Horde players.

Approximate Materials Required:
20 x Golden Sansam
60 x Felweed
100 x Imbued Vial
40 x Ragveil
80 x Dreaming Glory
40 x Nightmare Vine

Alchemy will now offer 3 specializations in TBC and these are not like normal specialization trees that limit what you can make, instead you get a small chance to make a bonus item when doing Alchemy.

You can spec in one of:
Master of Elixers
Master of Transmutes
Master of Potions

When you do this, anytime you create one of those items, you get a small chance of making a second item, so lets say you have to make 1 Super Healing Potion, there is a small chance you might make 2 of them.

It is a nice little bonus IMO for Alchemists.

Here is a copy/paste of more info from the Beta Forums:

Master of Potions - Allows an Alchemist to sometimes create an additional potion when brewing high level potions
Starts with Quest from Lauranna Thar'well at Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh
Quest sends you to The Botanica in Tempest Keep to retrieve The Botanist's Field Guide from High Botanist Freywenn
Also requires the Following:
- 5 Super Healing Potions
- 5 Super Mana Potions
- 5 Major Dreamless Sleep Potions

Master of Elixirs - Allows an Alchemist to sometimes create an additional elixir when brewing high level elixirs
Starts with Quest from Lorokeem (Grand Master Alchemist) in Lower City Shattrath
Quest sends you to Caverns of Time to collect 10 Essences of Infinity from Rift Lords and Rift Keepers.
Also requires the Following:
- 5 Elixir of Major Defense
- 5 Elixir of Mastery
- 5 Elixir of Major Agility

Master of Transmutation - Allows an Alchemist to sometimes to get greater results when transmuting materials
Starts with Quest from Zarehvi at The Stormspire in Netherstorm
Quest asks only for the following:
- 3 Primal Might
