This is a basic guide of the new 3.2 patch 5-man instance called Trial of the Champion located at Icecrown. Firstly you need to setup your group in the standard manner of 1 tank, 1 heals and 3 dps. Everyone zone in, equip their lance, mount up and starts putting up 3 shields on themselves. Once the event has started 3 Champions with 3 adds will come out a gate but they don't attack until they are all grouped outside. When they are all outside in the circle the 3 group of adds will start attacking, kill them in whichever order your party prefers but mark them and focus on killing one at a time. After those adds are dead 3 more adds will come until all the adds are dead.

When all the adds are dead, there should be 3 champions standing and they will all charge at your group, you should mark them to kill in order once again. When one champion is down he will try to remount, so quickly run over to them and stun them for 15 secs. Phase one will end when all the champions are off there mounts. So make sure you stun them until you have defeated the other champions. When they are all on the ground, quickly re-equip you're weapons!

Phase 2
Everyone will be on the ground and you will start to kill the champions. It varys of what the classes are but it shouldn't be hard to figure out what to kill first. Once they are all dead there will be a chest in the middle loot it of course! In heroic it gives 1 [Epic] item, 1 conquest emblem and 1 champion seal.

Argent Crusade Fight
You will face either Eadric the Pure (Male Paladin), or Argent Confessor Paletress (Female Priest). You need to kill the adds and then the boss and very importantly to destroy the Lightwell that heals them. At 25% you will fight a "Memory" which is supposed to be mobs from the good old Vanilla WoW, TBC and etc.. When he or she is dead, there will be another chest in the middle of the room and it drops 2 epic items, 1 conquest emblem and 1 champion seal in heroic mode.

The Black Knight
For the final battle, the Black Knight will fly into the arena and will summon a ghoul, you have to kill him and his ghoul and after he is dead he will resurrect and cast "army of the dead" but watch out as the ghouls explode. After he dies he will resurrect once last time as a ghost form, in this form just kill him as fast as possible. The Black Knight also drops 2 epic items, 1 conquest emblem and 1 champion seal.

I use these free teleports all the time to get my 80 somewhere fast. The simple trick is in keeping these quests in your log and not handing them in. That's all you have to do to enjoy free travels to various cities and locations.

Fate, Up Against Your Will
This quest or the follow-up will provide you with a free teleport from Stormwind to a phased version of Orgrimmar which is helpful if you wanna fish up Old Crafty, get RFC achievement or just a quick way into the Durotar area. There will also remain a portal back into Stormwind inside Thrall's room.
Location: Stormwind to Orgrimmar

The Killing Time
This quest requires the previous 2 completed and is the 4th in the quest chain. It will provide a portal into a phased Undercity. I prefer the Orgrimmar portal myself though as I find it more useful.
Location: Anywhere to Undercity

Where in the World is Hemet Nesingwary?
This quest starts at Krasus Landing in Dalaran and will teleport u in a few seconds to the very center of Sholazar Basin. I really don't think it's worth handing in this quest as its been saving me a lot of time going on my herbalist/miner for a quick area sweep. Besides, the rewards are peanuts anyways.
Location: Dalaran to Sholazar Basin

Preparations for War
This quest also starts at Krasus Landing in Dalaran and will teleport u in a few seconds to your factions zep in Icecrown. Helpful if you wanna go straight to doing the dailies on the ship instead of looking for the zep on the map etc.
Location: Dalaran to Icecrown

The Keeper's Favor
This quest grants you a teleport into Moonglade from Crusaders' Pinnacle in Icecrown which could be useful for.. grinding Timbermaw rep.. grinding the nearby oozeling.. grinding the Winterspring Frostsaber quest.. or even getting your Leatherworking skill up on the little critters there.
Location: Icecrown to Moonglade

The Boon of A'dal
This is the end of a long chain quest with some decent rewards for a starting character, but if you don't turn this quest in then it is essentially treated like a portal to Dalaran from Shattrath. Not very useful for most, but people doing, say, Old Man Barlo's fishing may want to simply not turn it in. Each time you pick up the quest you are ported to Dalaran.
Location: Shattrath to Dalaran

I've scoured the wowhead databases to come up with the best compilation of preraid available DK gear that I can. First, let me explain my rationale in making these comparisons, because while I'm quite confident in my knowledge of the DK class mechanics, it never hurts to put anything up for peer review.

Let me start by saying that this is NOT a definitive list of raiding requirements. That will be up to guild leadership. What this is is an attempt to share the benefit of my research and experiences with other Death Knights who have raiding and tanking aspirations. Hopefully this will encourage a discussion, because it's really discussions where the best ideas come from.

This list is not intended to list the ultimate gear choices for all slots. It is intended instead to highlight some of the best items available before raid zones. The items on this list are intended to get a Death Knight tank ready for the entry level raids like Naxxramas. Thus the only criteria for inclusion in this list is that the item be obtainable without raiding; heroics, emblems of heroism, tradeskills (that don't require raid zone mats/recipes), and factions are all valid sources for the purpose of this guide. There's also a list of specific enchants to help get where you need to be.

The things you need to be thinking about are--

Uncritablity (540 Defense Skill == 689 Defense Rating): The Defense Rating is what you'll be sacrificing most other important stats for early on, but it's necessary. A tank taking a critical strike is a quick way to wipe a raid. Fortunately, crushing blows are no longer a concern, as a mob has to be 4 levels higher than the player to deliver one.

HP Pool: This is of obvious importance to any tank, but again, as you'll be focusing on obtaining uncritable, it's important to consider how best to maximize Sta/HP without sacrificing defense.

Strength: In addition to being your primary threat generation stat (EVERYTHING scales with AP) strength doubles as an avoidance stat for DKs thanks to the passive ability Forceful Deflection, which adds an amount equal to 25% of total strength to your parry rating.

To sum it up before I get into the actual list, the heirarchy weight I'm using to determine the list looks something like this:

Defense (Until Uncritable) > Sta/Str > Dodge Rating > Parry Rating

Strength is our biggest threat generation stat, but others to consider in making gear choices are Expertise, Haste, and Hit Rating.

Summary: This set will get you to 705 total Defense Rating including enchants, or a total of 543 defense skill. 540 is the magic number for uncritable, so this gives a little leeway in terms of upgrading your gear as you progress through raid content.

As I start to build this set myself, and gain more experience, I'll update this guide in accordance with any new practical knowledge I pick up. I also reiterate my hope that other DKs will participate in this discussion.

Addenda

The sigil selection has been questioned by a few other DKs, and while the consensus seems to be that there isn't a "great" sigil available to DK tanks at this time, the Sigil of the Dark Rider (starter quest sigil) may well provide superior returns on threat for most tanking rotations.

Some suggested alternatives to the above items, superior in HP/Avoidance and also obtainable via pre-raid means. (Thanks Nyxia, Alysara, and Morocius for these suggestions)

Basically, there is a cave where worms are in Storm Peaks. (coords 47,55)

Well there are Worgs there that killed by the Worms, this is important because they spawn in a pair.

Once you kill the worms the spawn rate of the Worgs is totally insane. After a couple of minutes, it becomes an instant respawn between the four spots.

So you just run around the begging of the cave (as shown in the screenshot) and never run out of mobs, and besides Borean Leather, they do drop Artic Fur as well.

Here are the 4 locations:

I guess it would also be an awesome place for grinding too since you will experience no downtime between mobs.

While I was at Zul'Drak leveling an alt of mine, I got that quest called "The Storm King's Vengeance" whereby you need ride Gymer (the king of storm giants) and kill 100 scourges and 3 elites for completion.

All the undeads you kill on the way with Gymer gives no EXP but there is a specific area in Zul'Drak with something very interesting indeed.

If you haven't done the quest-chain which leads to "Altar of Quetz'Lun", you will notice that if you go there with your giant, you will see all the mobs from the "dead" area (a fading layer).

There you can pretty much kill them with just 2-3 hits and earn EXP by killing using Gymer the giant. Only thing is you just can't loot the mobs but basically you get no downtime at all and 2-3 shotting mobs. The best way i found out was to zoom in and just run around tabbing and hitting since his size is so big you cant see them. So either zoom in or get a zoom out mod.

Yes, this is a exploit. Maybe not a great exploit, but definitely worth 1 level per 30mins rested for me. That area mentioned isn't intended to be visible unless you are doing a quest-chain to get access. While you ride Gymer, everything despawns to another "fading layer", but that area is on the same layer!

Just run around killing everything you see (2300xp each kill if rested) as quick as you can. Enjoy your easy free kills!

Dalaran Cooking Dailies
There are a total of 5 daily cooking quests available and doing the daily cooking quests each day will give you 4-6 gold per quest, but more importantly, it will give you Northern Spices, which sell for about 8-10g each (and you can get 3-6 of them for each daily). So even if you don't do the cooking yourself, you can still make about 30-60g each day for doing a 5 minute quest. I think the longest I've spent personally doing one of these dailies is 15 minutes, only because so many others were doing it at the same time too.

Also one of the dailies is probably NOT worth it, but I'll get to that when I describe it below.

Prereqs: 375 cooking (to be able to make Northern Stew)
Backlog of Chilled Meat (a lot of the quests uses it)
Backlog of Rhino Meat (or Rhino Dogs) - needed for one of the quests - I believe you need to have a 375 cooking to be able to make these too.

The Quests

Infused Mushroom Meatloaf
For this quest, you need to combine 2 Chilled Meat with 4 infused mushrooms and turn it in to Orton Bennet in Curiosities & Moore (he's on the upper level of the building across the street from "A Hero's Welcome" Inn - entrance to building is at 48.74, 57.80 and go up the stairs).

To get the infused mushrooms: Go into the sewers; easiest way is to run around the circle of wills looking for the mushrooms to spawn around the outside. If you're a herbalist, you've got it made. They can also spawn in the two long hallways or the black market. I try to avoid near the tavern as they tend to spawn underwater. It shouldn't take you longer than about 3-4 minutes to find all 4. Then find a fire and combine with the 2 chilled meat and deliver to Orton.

Reward: 5.8g, Dalaran Cooking Award x1 and Small Spice Bag (3-6 Northern Spices, plus potentially "Baby Spice", "Old Spice" and/or another Dalaran Cooking Award.

Convention at the Legerdemain
This quest (in my opinion) is not worth it, as you need 12 chilled meat to complete it (and they could go for a lot of money, especially on the day of this quest. I recommend buying chilled meat only when it's cheap on the AH, or farming it yourself - more on that later). Although if you have the meat, this can be the fastest quest of them all.

Go to the Cheese Shop (One More Glass - Entrance at 52.83, 34.21) and look around for the Jug of wine. It can spawn on any of the three tables downstairs, or on one of the few spots upstairs. Generally if someone has just looted it, it takes about 10-15 seconds to respawn somewhere else.

Then Make 12 Northern Stew out of your chilled meat, and turn in these items to Arrille Azuregaze at the Legerdemain Lounge (entrance is right across the street from the cheese shop). He's behind the bar on the main floor.

Reward: 4.4g, Dalaran Cooking Award x1 and Small Spice Bag (3-6 Northern Spices, plus potentially "Baby Spice", "Old Spice" and/or another Dalaran Cooking Award.

Sewer Stew
This is the only Dalaran cooking daily where you have to leave the city, but it's still doable at 70, but you have to be careful. Go to the Violet Strand Teleport Crystal (located in the violet Gate, east side of runeweaver square. there are two entrances to the building with the crystal, one from the middle of the square (going east), and one opposite Krasus' Landing, loc of entrance is 57.61, 46.50. Note if you go in from the middle of the square, you need to go downstairs, as the crystal is at ground level). Note that if you haven't done it yet, there is a quest to use the crystal to go down to the violet stand and back again given by the woman upstairs in the Violet Gate.

Go down to the Violet Stand, then head due east from the crystal. Be on the look out for wolves if you're less than level 75 or so, as they are your only threat and are usually level 78 or so. Avoiding the wolves, you want to cross the river and you should have a very easy time finding 4 Crystalsong Carrots growing around there. I've always seen a ton, and usually only spent about a minute or two getting all 4. Again, herbalists have an advantage here as they can be tracked.

After you get the carrots, head back to the violet stand (again, being careful of the wolves) and teleport back up to Dalaran using the crystal at 15.85, 42.51). Combine the 4 carrots with 4 chilled meat by clicking on the cookpot when near a fire, and you've got your vegetable stew. Take the stew down to the sewers to Ajay Green in the "Cantrips & Crows" tavern (note there is a cooking stove just about 10 feet to his left while facing him).

Reward: 5.8 g, Dalaran Cooking Award x1 and Small Spice Bag (3-6 Northern Spices, plus potentially "Baby Spice", "Old Spice" and/or another Dalaran Cooking Award.

Cheese for Glowergold
I personally like this quest because it doesn't require any chilled meat or Rhino meat. It does usually take more time though because the spawn rate leaves a bit to be desired. I'll share my technique though.

Once you get this quest, look quickly at the tables in the tavern. No sparklies, check upstairs. You need 6 half filled glasses of wine which spawn randomly on any tables in Dalaran. In A Hero's Welcome, they can spawn on the bar, on the table near the entrance, the two tables upstairs above the bar, or the three tables in the room upstairs behind the bar.

Next head into the Legerdemain Lounge and check the tables and the bar there. Then head upstairs to check the two rooms. Then, if I have patience. I'll camp out in the room with the 4 beds (and two tables). Put myself in view of both tables, and just wait. Average respawn time is about 1-2 minutes. This means it can take about 10 minutes to get all 6 glasses, but they sometimes will spawn on both tables. I usually do something on my other computer at this point or read the morning paper.

After you obtain all 6 glasses, go to the cheese shop (One More Glass - Entrance at 52.83, 34.21) and look at the 3 tables inside on the main level, or the table just outside for the cheese. It will respawn within 30 seconds after someone else looted it.

Right click on the plate (looks like a shield) to create your wine and cheese party, and deliver it to Ranid Glowergold at the Leatherworkers in the Magus Commerce Exchange (loc around 37.63, 32.80).

Reward: 5.8g, Dalaran Cooking Award x1 and Small Spice Bag (3-6 Northern Spices, plus potentially "Baby Spice", "Old Spice" and/or another Dalaran Cooking Award.

Mustard Dogs!
The benefit of this quest is that it is the only one which awards 2 Cooking awards plus the spice bag. It can get to be annoying, however, if you're not a herbalist. You've got to gather 4 wild mustard which grows in any of the grassy areas of Dalaran. Actually, there are only 4 areas where I've harvested it from:

1. In the middle of runeweaver square, there are 4 spawn points
2. In the grassy area between the violet Citadel and the Magus Commerce Exchange there are 2 spawn points, but one of them is bugged, and it spawns under a rock - don't bother unless you see the other spawn point.
3. To the left of the Violet Citadel, there are 3 spawn points, one of which is kind of hidden between the tree and the building itself.
4. There are three spawn points in Antonidas Memorial - one of them is behind the big tree on the North side.

After you get the mustard, click on the picnic basket to combine with 4 Rhino dogs, and deliver them to Archmage Pentarus at Krasus' Landing. He's about 10 feet from the Flight Path.

Reward: 5.8g, Dalaran Cooking Award x2 and Small Spice Bag (3-6 Northern Spices, plus potentially "Baby Spice", "Old Spice" and/or another Dalaran Cooking Award.

Best Place for Farm Chilled Meat
In Howling Fjord, just to the east of Camp Winterhoof (around loc 52,8) there are a tons of Rams. They drop the meat about 1/3 to 1/2 the time. They respawn relatively quickly, and there is a fair number of them there. I can get 20 meat in about just 10 minutes.

Hope this little guide helps! Get those cooking awards!

White Polar Bear Mount
This is a simple guide on how to get the Reins of the White Polar Bear from the Hyldnir Spoils. The dailies can be picked up here (location map) after you complete the quest chain to unlock them, which is the same as the Sons of Hodir chain to unlock that.

This mount comes from 4 possible daily quests, Back to the Pit, Defending Your Title, Maintaining Discipline, and The Aberrations Must Die. All of these quests are fairly easy and do not take much time to complete, as you only receive two of these quests a day that are randomly picked, however it seems like The Aberrations Must Die is always there on my server somehow.

Back to the Pit
This quest requires you to mount the Reins of the Icemaw Matriarch which is provided to you for the quest and slay six Hyldsmeet Warbear, which are found battling in the pit in the center of town. Which can be seen on this location map. The easiest way to defeat them is to pick one within the health range to still give you kill credit due to the NPCs fighting them also. Hit 1 for the Auto attack, then use 4 (their maul like ability), 5 (Does a knock back ability), and 6 (A charge that also stuns). It is a good idea to use the knock back when the charge is off cool down so you can stun them and no longer take damage until the stun wears off.

Defending Your Title
This daily requires you to slay six Victorious Challenger, which are also found in town, they are the NPCs standing around observing the other NPCs dueling. They are fairly easy with only about 12.5k health, but they have a very annoying Shield Slam move which they tend to use quite a lot.

Maintaining Discipline
This quest requires you to hit the Exhausted Vrykul in the Forlorn Mine (found here - location map) with the Disciplining Rod that is provided for this quest. The Exhausted Vrykul are the ones that are sitting on the ground. Since this daily is usually grouped with The Aberrations Must Die, it is best to enter from the east and clear them to the west until you reach the outside of the mine again.

The Aberrations Must Die
This quest is done here (location map), and requires you to break 30 Plagued Proto-Drake Egg, which are broken by freezing them by throwing a Vial of Frost Oil on the ground on top of them. The eggs are found in small groups possibly 1 to up to 7. If you consistently hit groups of 6, which are generally the normal size groups, you only need to collect 5 of the Vial of Frost Oil, which drop from the Valkyrion Aspirant, these NPCs can be found guarding the buildings, two at each door, or patrolling the rode, they also only have about 12.5k health, and since they are grouped up so nicely, it is easy to AoE them down.

At the end of the day, you need to turn all the quests back from where you picked them up, open your spoils bag and hope you get the mount, it is a low drop chance and usually you will get some cheese, water or even some snowballs. Best of luck to all of you trying to get this elusive mount!

Jewelcrafting 375-450
Jewelcrafting was introduced during the Burning Crusade expansion and now with the current WotLK expansion, it has grown in terms of the availability of epic rings, necklaces and self-use trinkets or figurines. In my opinion, Prospecting makes Jewelcrafting into a cash cow.

Without further ado, let's check out the location of the Jewelcrafting trainers:

Alliance:
Alestos - 57,72 in Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra.
Ounhulo - 59,63 in Valgarde, Howling Fjord.

Horde:
Geba'li - 41,53 in Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra.

Heroic Dungeon Achievement
The Glory of the Hero achievement has 39 prerequisites spread across all 12 available heroic 5-man dungeons available in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

The range of difficulty required of the prerequisites vary. This is my attempt to alleviate some of the difficulty while you're on the grind for the 415 achievement points and a Red Proto-Drake. Do take note of the following difficulty rating:

* 5 -- Very Hard; requires a high level of coordination and gear
* 4 -- Hard; requires a high level of coordination or gear
* 3 -- Medium; requires class stacking or decent gear or decent coordination
* 2 -- Easy; a PUG could complete this achievement
* 1 -- Very Easy; only requires multiple runs or it is achievable without even knowing it's an achievement

Utgarde Keep

* On The Rocks
Defeat Prince Keleseth in Utgarde Keep on Heroic Difficulty without shattering any Frost Tombs.
Difficulty: 3
The difficulty in this achievement lies solely on your healer. The Frost Tomb ability incapacitates a random person in the group whom must be kept up throughout the encounter.
The use of a Frost Resistance totem or aura can increase your chances to resist the tomb however you can no longer use a PvP trinket or human racial to escape the Frost Tomb and still receive the achievement.
During the possibility of your healer being Ice Tombed, it is advisable for your tank to save his cooldowns for this scenario. Any person in your group capable of healing should do so at this moment.
Geared players that can do AoE damage (a warrior's whirlwind for example) should be careful not to accidentally break a close Frost Tomb.

The Nexus

* Split Personality
Defeat Grand Magus Telestra in The Nexus on Heroic Difficulty after having killed her images within 5 seconds of each other during both splits.
Difficulty: 4
The achievement is somewhat self-described though there are a few tips that might assist you. If you have a class capable of multiple incapacitates (rogue for example), I advise you put them on the Frost image to reduce the amount of AoE damage the group is absorbing.
Once each mob is reduced to 40% do not reapply any DoT abilities. One "glitch" if you may call it to this achievement is that the Frost image is not capable of being killed while casting Blizzard.
If you have a class that can interrupt save it for when the Frost mage is below 5% health or wait out the Blizzard before calling out for all three images to be simultaneously killed.

* Chaos Theory
Defeat Anomalus in The Nexus on Heroic Difficulty without destroying any Chaotic Rifts.
Difficulty: 2
This achievement once understood is one of the easiest to complete. The ramp right before the boss is where most of this encounter will take place.
Have the tank pick up Anomalus and brings him to the top of the ramp while the rest of the group stands at the lower platform within range of the boss. Melee can do their normal thing during this phase.
The encounter goes on as normal until the rifts spawn. The melee DPS need to join the rest of the group at the bottom platform while the tank stands still.
The damage from the rifts has a chain lightning effect and how the group is positioned makes it so only the tank is hit by this easing the amount of healing required exponentially.
After 45 seconds the boss will lose his damage immunity and the fight ensues. Multiple mobs do still spawn from the rifts but they can be handled by the now somewhat useless melee DPS.

* Intense Cold
Defeat Keristrasza in The Nexus on Heroic Difficulty without allowing Intense Cold to reach more than two stacks.
Difficulty: 2
Intense Cold is a debuff that increases based on your lack of mobility. The more you move, the better.
Casters need to move or jump after every cast while melee can keep jumping the entire time during this encounter.
Frost resistance is also useful to have here because of a group wide Frost Nova that happens infrequently during the encounter. Make sure to utilize magic dispels on someone going for this achievement as well as use a PvP trinket and/or a human racial in case of long stretch of no dispels.
Melee needs to stay away from tailswipe so as to avoid the RNG possibility of being knocked back, frost nova'd and out of range of a dispeller.

Azjol-Nerub

* Watch Him Die
Defeat Krik'thir the Gatewatcher in Azjol-Nerub on Heroic Difficulty while Watcher Gashra, Watcher Narjil and Watcher Silthik are still alive.
Difficulty: 5
We're going to utilize some interesting game mechanics (MOB pathing) in order to buy more time for your group. This is probably one of the most DPS demanding achievements so make sure people utilize all their cooldowns.
If you look to your right as you enter the boss's room, you will see a ledge that runs all the way over to the right of the boss. Have your healer run all the way over when your group is ready before the pull.
Don't worry, he won't aggro any of the MOBs or start the encounter. Have the tank charge in to the boss and drag him to the right pillar (near the right side of the door).
The healer needs to spam heals in order to gain healing aggro on all the other MOBs in the room. They will turn around and run towards him following along the same path that your healer ran there.
Once they are close, the healer can jump down and the mobs will begin running back towards him. This buys your group around 15 seconds of extra DPS time.
If you have a priest(s) in your group, have them use shackle on Skirmishers as they have a charge ability that can sometimes cause this strategy to fail.
Keep at it, it is definitely doable without heroism with a geared group.

* Hadronox Denied
Defeat Hadronox in Azjol-Nerub on Heroic Difficulty before he webs the top doors and prevents more creatures from spawning.
Difficulty: 2
Some things we are going to do with a bit of extra creativity. If anyone in your group is capable of dropping out of combat (rogue, hunter, Night Elf for example) they can make this a breeze!
Having your predetermined party member run in and attack a Crusher and then vanish. The mobs will despawn for a moment which buys your group enough time to run all the way down to the boss.
Complete the boss like normal and enjoy your practically free achievement.

* Gotta Go!
Defeat Anub'arak in Azjol-Nerub on Heroic Difficulty in 2 minutes or less.
Difficulty: 5
This achievement is being fixed in the next content patch due to its extreme use of group stacking. If this is the only achievement holding you back, head on over to the discussion page on Wowhead.com to see what people are doing. Have hope: it IS possible but beyond the scope of this guide at the moment.

Ahn'Kahet: The Old Kingdom

* The Party's Over
Defeat Prince Taldaram in Ahn'kahet on Heroic Difficulty with less than 5 people.
Difficulty: 4
This achievement is self explanatory but if you're having any difficulty, I would recommend losing a melee DPS in exchange for ranged due to Prince Taldaram's Flame Ball ability.

* Volazj's Quick Demise
Defeat Herald Volazj in Ahn'kahet on Heroic Difficulty in 2 minutes or less.
Difficulty: 2
The Insanity cast by this boss is probably one of the most frustrating (and fun) abilities of a boss but it definitely cuts into this timed achievement. So, let's skip it!
Take the boss over to either pillar in the room and DPS away. When he starts casting Insanity have everyone (including the tank) run behind the pillar.
As long as everyone is out of Line of Sight of the boss than he will run back and fight like normal again completely skipping the hardest part!

* Respect Your Elders
Defeat Elder Nadox in Ahn'kahet on Heroic Difficulty without killing any Ahn'kahar Guardians.
Difficulty: 4
Utilizing a class that can kite (druid, rogue or hunter for example), get aggro on the boss and move quickly to the the entrance of the zone where your group should be waiting.
The boss spawns Guardians at a certain percentage but they spawn in the boss' original room so you have ample time to kill the boss before the Guardians can cast damage immunity on the boss.

* Volunteer Work
Defeat Jedoga Shadowseeker in Ahn'kahet on Heroic Difficulty without killing any Twilight Volunteers.
Difficulty: 3
The difficulty in this encounter is another healing intense one. Once a Twilight Volunteer reaches Jedoga she will become enraged.
Melee needs to move out while she is enraged due to her high damage whirlwind like ability. Once enrage falls off, melee can get back in and do DPS.
Make sure to use some kind of disarm if you have it available but there is no serious strategy to this just use all your cooldowns to end the fight as quickly as possible.

Drak'Tharon Keep

* Consumption Junction
Defeat Trollgore in Drak'Tharon Keep on Heroic Difficulty before Consume reaches ten stacks.
Difficulty: 3
I would love to take credit for this one but alas, I cannot. There is no better way to describe how to do this boss than what is said by Magekill from Wowhead.com:

Quote:
The Consume debuff increases based on how many players or npc's are in his LOS. This applies to the troll adds as well.

We tanked him to the left of the stairs, in that little pocket between the left pillar and the wall of the stairs.

The tank was standing to keep the boss in the pocket.
The healer was standing around the middle of the room, in LOS of the tank but out of LOS of the boss.
The ranged stayed on the stairs and took care of the adds, did not DPS the boss.
The melee DPS ran in and dps'd for 10 seconds, then ran around the corner onto the stairs for the consume.

Every time the boss consumed the tank and the consume debuff increased by 1, the tank would use this macro:

/sw 10
/script Stopwatch_Play();
/rw === Cast consume, safe for 10 secs! ===
/in 10 /rw === Back out now! ===

That would set a stopwatch for 10 seconds, start the stopwatch, tell the group to dps for 10 seconds, then tell the group when it was time to get out.

As long as the tank (or whoever) hits the macro right after the consume debuff increases, it works perfectly.

Good luck! -Awakened-Kilrogg_US

* Better Off Dred
Engage King Dred in Drak'Tharon Keep on Heroic Difficulty and slay 6 Drakkari Gutrippers or Drakkari Scytheclaw during his defeat.
Difficulty: 4
A very geared group will find this to be very simple but not all of us have that luxury but there is an easy solution: utilize an offtank or a second healer.
There shouldn't be a need to switch out anyone for this achievement if one of the three DPS in the group can fill either role. There is no need to switch specs.
Utilize the offtank to pick up the incoming adds or have two healers keep up the sole tank while he tanks both.

* Oh Novos!
Defeat Novos the Summoner in Drak'Tharon Keep on Heroic Difficulty without allowing any undead minions to reach the floor.
Difficulty: 1
A lot of people have earned this achievement without knowing it was even one to begin with.
Keeping your tank, healer, and best DPS at the base of the steps send your other 2 DPS to the middle or higher on top of the stairs. Have them DPS everything they see except for the abominations.
Have them call out when they see one and just have the group run up and kill it then resume your normal positions. After a certain amount of time the boss will become attackable and the MOBs from the stairs will stop spawning.

The Violet Hold

* Defenseless
Defeat Cyanigosa in The Violet Hold without using Defense Control Crystals and with Prison Seal Integrity at 100% while in Heroic Difficulty.
Difficulty: 1
Not too much to say about a couple of achievements because they go beyond the point of being redundant.
But to be brief: make sure your tank is picking up all the MOBs as soon as they spawn to avoid the Prison Seal Integrity from dropping below 100%.

* Lockdown!
Defeat Xevozz, Lavanthor, Ichoron, Zuramat the Obliterator, Erekem, and Moragg in The Violet Hold on Heroic Difficulty.
Difficulty: 1
Just keep running Heroic Violet Hold every day until you can check this one off. It's just a "takes some time" kind of achievement.

* Dehydration
Defeat Ichoron in the Violet Hold on Heroic Difficulty without allowing any Ichor Globules to merge.
Difficulty: 2
During the entire fight with this boss, designate one of your DPS to stand right next to the Defense Control Crystal and be ready to click it as soon as Ichoron splits into Ichor Globules. Rinse and repeat until the boss is dead.

* A Void Dance
Defeat Zuramat the Obliterator in The Violet Hold without killing any void sentries.
Difficulty: 3
This is purely a DPS race. It is important to make use of all cooldowns while trying for this achievement. Do not neglect the use of any Shadow Resistance kind of group buffs.

Gundrak

* What the Eck?
Defeat Gal'darah in Gundrak on Heroic Difficulty while under the effects of Eck Residue.
Difficulty: 1
During the heroic mode of Gundrak an extra boss is available named Eck the Ferocious. He occasionally uses a frontal cone effect that places the "Eck Residue" debuff on you.
The debuff has no side effects but it does go away on death which is the only challenging part to this achievement.
You need to kill the last boss without dying once after getting the buff or you'll be trying this one again another day.

* Share The Love
Defeat Gal'darah in Gundrak on Heroic Difficulty and have 5 unique party members get impaled throughout the fight.
Difficulty: 3
This challenge practically demands an offtank and trying it without one might lead to a lot of headaches. Once your offtank has been impaled he can go ahead and get aggro from the boss and wait on your main tank to get impaled. Once everyone has been impaled, finish the boss off. Group makeup is a huge part of this achievement.

* Less-rabi
Defeat Moorabi in Gundrak on Heroic Difficulty while preventing him from transforming into a mammoth at any point during the encounter.
Difficulty: 2
The easiest way to do this fight is to exploit it and that's exactly what we're going to do! By making use of someone who can either drop combat or kite this achievement becomes unnecessary to use interrupts. Have a DPS shoot the boss and run up the ramp in the next room as far as possible.
He should turn into a mammoth during this but it's okay! The person who is kiting can now go ahead and safely die. The boss will run back down to his starting room where he needs to be picked up by your tank.
He will still be in mammoth form but it is safe for your group to kill him. Assuming the original kiter did not release all five of you will receive this achievement.

* Snakes. Why'd It Have To Be Snakes?
Defeat Slad'ran in Gundrak on Heroic Difficulty without getting snake wrapped.
Difficulty: 2
Have your tank kite the boss up near the top of the ramp from the previous room while the DPS and healer are waiting on the very top. DPS the boss like normal and run out of LoS whenever he starts casting his big nuke.
The snakes spawn in the boss' original room so this buys you ample time to DPS the boss before snake wrap becomes an issue.

Halls of Stone

* Good Grief
Defeat the Maiden of Grief in the Halls of Stone on Heroic Difficulty in 1 minute or less.
Difficulty: 1
This is probably one of the easiest achievements for Glory of the Hero. If you have any kind of heroic gear in your group you might get this without even knowing it

* Brann Spankin' New
Defeat the Tribunal of Ages encounter in the Halls of Stone on Heroic Difficulty without allowing Brann Bronzebeard to take any damage.
Difficulty: 5
This difficulty of this achievement depends on the awareness and AoE abilities of your tank. Place the entire group at the steps entrance pick up every MOB you can.
The use of some kind of AoE slow (frost trap, piercing howl, earthbind totem for example) serves as an excellent means to buy your group time to catch MOBs that get away initially. If Brann Bronzebeard is hit, you can reset this encounter by running to the end of the hall.

* Abuse the Ooze
Defeat Sjonnir the Ironshaper in the Halls of Stone on Heroic Difficulty and kill 5 Iron Sludges during the encounter.
Difficulty: 4
Begin this boss encounter like normal by killing side MOBs and DPS the boss. Once the boss is below 50% health, stop DPS on him. Keep the DPS up on the side MOBs until Oozes start spawning. Allow only two to reach the center of the room while killing all other Oozes. The two will soon combine and turn into an Iron Sludge which can then be killed and the process can be completed.
It is important to not let the Oozes overflow because the Iron Sludge does an AoE poison volley which can get pretty nasty. This is just a long fight involving some coordination between two of your DPS classes.

Halls of Lightning

* Timely Death
Defeat Loken in the Halls of Lightning on Heroic Difficulty in 2 minutes or less.
Difficulty: 4
This one is easy to get if your whole group stays alive but in reality, everyone staying alive is the real achievement. It's important for the entire group to stack up on your tank for almost the entire encounter while making sure to stay at max melee range to buy yourself a second or so during his AoE nuke.
Everyone needs to turn around (not walk backwards) and run when he starts casting. When he's done, immediately get back in melee range of him. If healing is low for your group, it is advisable for the person with the lightning debuff to separate from the group by about 5 yards (no more or his aura will probably kill them) to avoid spreading the debuff.

* Lightning Shock
Defeat General Bjarngrim in the Halls of Lightning on Heroic Difficulty while he has a Temporary Electrical Charge.
Difficulty: 1
The Temporary Electrical Charge places a buff on the boss that increases his damage by 30%. There is nothing different to the boss fight except that he just hits that much harder.
Like most DPS race achievements (or healer/tank ones like this) utilize all cooldowns whenever they're up. It is advisable for your tank to save his cooldowns for when the boss is in Berserker Stance.

* Shatter Resistant
Defeat Volkhan in the Halls of Lightning on Heroic Difficulty without allowing him to shatter more than 4 Brittle Golems.
Difficulty: 2
This is one more of the DPS race achievements. Have your tank pick up the Golems that spawn while the DPS ignores them and zergs the boss. Nothing else to it.

The Culling of Stratholme

* The Culling of Time
Defeat the Infinite Corruptor in The Culling of Stratholme on Heroic Difficulty.
Difficulty: 5
The Infinite Corruptor is a boss that is only available if your group can clear to him in less than 25 minutes. This involves killing 10 separate groups, 3 trash pulls and 3 bosses, and another long hallway. Until you have a geared group, utilizing class composition is your best bet to get this boss (who also drops a guaranteed flying drake!)
The boss takes around 2 minutes to kill with an undergeared group to give yourself an idea of what time frame you're looking at. Utilize as many AoE classes as you can and make sure to bring someone capable of dispelling poisons as they are the biggest debuff during this zone.

* Zombiefest!
Kill 100 Risen Zombies in 1 minute in The Culling of Stratholme on Heroic Difficulty.
Difficulty: 4
There are 85 zombies in the first street area and more in the back. In order to snag Zombiefest! you need to kill the first boss, clear the spawning packs until the second boss spawns.
The second boss needs to be kited all the way to the Inn with the tank, healer, and your best AoE DPS. The other two DPS need to run to the front street while waiting on zombies to repop. When they do, everyone needs to AoE as much as possible. Both "groups" will get credit for the other groups kill so being spread out is okay here. Once the achievement is earned you can DPS down the second boss. It is important to note that once the second boss is killed that no more zombies will respawn.

Utgarde Pinnacle

* The Incredible Hulk
Force Svala Sorrowgrave to kill a Scourge Hulk on Heroic Difficulty in Utgarde Pinnacle.
Difficulty: 2
There is a Scourge Hulk in the same room that can be utilized for this achievement. While Svala Sorrowgrave talks to Arthas your group needs to DPS the Scourge Hulk down to less than 9,000 health (make sure not to kill it though).
Treat the boss like normal and during the sacrifice portion of the fight have your tank drag the Scourge Hulk to where he will be hit by the sword.

* Lodi Dodi We Loves the Skadi
Defeat Skadi the Ruthless in Utgarde Pinnacle on Heroic Difficulty within 3 minutes of starting the gauntlet event.
Difficulty: 4
The method used for this achievement is the same one used for My Girl Loves to Skadi All the Time. Harpooners spawn during the gauntlet event every other wave.
Your group can lazily kill wave after wave until each member loots one Harpoon. After they do, run out of the gauntlet room and the boss will reset.
Run back in quickly and get to the end of the hallway before the boss reappears. When you're ready, have someone run up to the boss to start the gauntlet.
AoE down all the mobs that spawn while everyone stands inside the room so as to avoid the boss' breath ability. Ignore the first time he passes but the second time it says he's within range of the harpoons have everyone run out and shoot so he lands. Finish up the rest of the MOBs and DPS the boss down. You will have a spare 45 seconds to a minute if done correctly. Two achievements all in one!

* My Girl Loves to Skadi All the Time
Defeat Skadi the Ruthless in Utgarde Pinnacle on Heroic Difficulty after having killed Grauf from 100% to dead in a single pass.
Difficulty: 4
The method used for this achievement is the same one used for Lodi Dodi We Loves the Skadi.

* King's Bane
Defeat King Ymiron in Utgarde Pinnacle on Heroic Difficulty without anyone in the party triggering Bane.
Difficulty: 3
There are two ways to earn this achievement. One way is to treat it like a DPS race and get the boss down every 20% in under 20 seconds every time.
If you do this, he will never cast Bane. If the group does not have this kind of DPS they will need to watch for the boss' buff bar.
Whenever Bane comes up everyone needs to stop all attacks and wait for the buff to fall off. If it sounds simple, it's because it is.

The Oculus

* Experienced Drake Rider
On three different visits to The Oculus, get credit for defeating Ley-Guardian Eregos while riding an Amber, Emerald, and Ruby drake on Heroic Difficulty.
Difficulty: 1
This achievement is simply earned by utilizing a different drake while killing the last boss three times. Nothing really to it. Easy achievement!

* Make It Count
Defeat Ley-Guardian Eregos in The Oculus on Heroic Difficulty within 20 minutes of Drakos the Interrogator's death.
Difficulty: 4
There is no point in reinventing the wheel. jaxsonbateman from Wowhead posted an excellent guide to this achievement so all credit goes to him:

Quote:
1. As soon as the first boss dies, everyone grabs an amber drake. These are the dps mounts, and are all you need for the few azure drakes you'll need to kill.
2. To actually kill the azure drakes, open with a time shock, then time stop, then do a heavy time shock (due to the charges on the mob). Repeat on any subsequent mobs, with other drakes using time stop.
3. Kill as few drakes as possible - this is achieved by flying directly up at the start, and flying out and around.
4. Kill the eastern constructs, the western constructs, then travel around the inner circle from southwest to southeast. Use as little CC as possible, and kill the casters first. Move out of blizzards/flamestrikes.
5. Kill only the drakes near enough to the second boss' platform to aggro during battle, drop down and engage. Kill, quickly loot, fly to the third boss.
6. Fly between the four third boss positions, loot, fly back to the drake vendor and pick up two ambers, two emeralds and a ruby.
7. Kill Eregos as expediently as possible. One amber should constantly use temporal rift (except for when they have 7+ charges, at which time they should lance) and the other should be constantly lancing to build up the other amber's charges - it's very unlikely with the damage from the two greens and the red that both could channel temporal rift and get charges.

* Ruby Void
Defeat Ley-Guardian Eregos in The Oculus on Heroic Difficulty without anyone in your party using a Ruby Drake.
Difficulty: 4
The easiest way to do this achievement is to utilize 4 Emerald Drakes and 1 Amber Drake. The group needs to kite Ley-Guardian Eregos around the top for quite awhile while the Amber Drake keeps the 100% damage buff on the boss. The drakes that spawn move very slowly and are easily kiteable throughout the encounter.
It is vital that everyone stays together which will make this achievement rather simple.

* Emerald Void
Defeat Ley-Guardian Eregos in The Oculus on Heroic Difficulty without anyone in your party using an Emerald Drake.
Difficulty: 4
This achievement is considered one of the hardest though it can be made a lot simpler if you think out of the box. Your group should get 2 Ruby Drakes and 3 Amber Drakes.
Your healer needs to be one of the two Ruby Drakes. Have the entire group stack above the platform where the chest spawns and let the healer begin tanking while the group goes all out.
When the first Ruby Drake die, the healer will fall to the platform where he can begin healing the other 4 drakes and the other Ruby Drake can get aggro.

* Amber Void
Defeat Ley-Guardian Eregos in The Oculus on Heroic Difficulty without anyone in your party using an Amber Drake.
Difficulty: 4
Utilize 3 Emerald Drakes and 2 Ruby Drakes. Have the two tanks switch aggro back and forth while 2 Emerald Drakes heal the tank with aggro while the current offtank DPSs down MOBs.
Use the last Emerald Drake to heal the two tank healers.

Engineering 375-450
Engineering is yet another primary crafting profession that can create many cool, useful and amazing items. The highlight of WotLK for Engineering is none other than the ultra expensive motorcycle land mount. Another personal favorite of mine is the Noise Machine for spell casters or in my case... my mage which helps a lot during AoE farming.

Alrighty, let us have a look at where the trainers are for Engineering:

Alliance:
Sock Brightbolt - 57,72 in Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra.
Tisha Longbridge - 59,64 in Valgarde, Howling Fjord.

Neutral:
Justin Oshenko - 35,25 in Dalaran.
Findle Whistlesteam (Gnome Engineering) - 39,25 in Dalaran.
Didi the Wrench (Goblin Engineering) - 39,25 in Dalaran.

Here is the powerleveling guide for Engineering 375 to 450. Kindly note that some of the steps might be overlapping, so use the one which you have mats for or can be bought cheaply from the auction house:

This is my Wintergrasp mining and gas cloud route. It's still good even without engineering, but engineering makes it even more amazing. Wintergrasp is such a fantastic zone because there are so few people that go there due to being wary of PVP. When used at night, I can easily get a stack of Titanium or more, mixed with the Saronite and Eternal Fire which adds up to a lot of gold per hour. (On my server it can be anywhere between 500g and 800g/hour)

I usually start off at the Fortress if my faction controls Wintergrasp and if we don't, then I fly in on my mount to the fire Revenant area. I find it best to follow the path counter clockwise, because some of the nodes are on hills and looping back is a waste of time.

The map is self explanatory except there are a few spots that can be a little tricky. If you look closely at the northwest corner there's a line that goes around, only go that way if there's a node that seems out of reach on your minimap then you jump down onto it. Once you get to the big river/lake in the middle, you can run on either side (or right down the middle with waterwalking).

Once you get to the southeast corner, this is where engineering comes in handy. I marked 4 red dots on the map where clouds usually spawn. NOTE: If your faction controls wintergrasp, I would suggest killing the Flame Revenants as it will give you a decent amount of Crystallized Fire. After the fire area after going north you'll come to a cliff, just jump off the waterfall so you don't die.

There are some notes at the south which I didn't highlight because by the time you get back to where you started on the map, it's respawned already anyway. So going to the south area for me is wasting precious farming time.

For those who are at level 77 but do not have the funds to purchase the Northrend flying mount can apparently rent a loaned flying mount from "Honest" Max at K3 in The Storm Peaks. The mounts available are:

Loaned Wind Rider Reins
Loaned Gryphon Reins

The mount is FREE, it flies, but it moves at walking speed. It's a pain if you need it to explore, but it does have some very handy uses such as:

You can mount while moving.

You can mount in combat.

You can even mount while falling.

I believe if you purchase Northrend flying you're unable to get the free mount, but I was able to get the free mount, then I purchased Northrend flying, and I still have the loaned mount in my inventory. I'm not quite sure what other uses it has, it's still a pain to get around while using it. But it's nice to get out of combat free and best of all... mounting while in mid-air.

Enchanting TrainerEnchanting is one of my favorite profession in the game and quite expensive as well to powerlevel but can make you a nice return of consistent gold income with disenchanting and selling of mats. With the launch of Wrath of the Lich King, I guess it is better to start of with the location of trainers:

Alliance:
Elizabeth Jackson - 58,62 in Valgarde, Howling Fjord.
Alexis Marlowe - 57,71 in Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra.

Horde:
Eorain Dawnstrike - 41,53 in Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra.
Emil Autumn - 78,28 in Vengence Landing, Howling Fjord.

Neutral:
Enchanter Nalthanis - 38,39 in Dalaran.
