So you're finally achieved level 70 and are itching to get your hands on an epic flying mount to state your claim as one of the elite players in server. Its easier said than done as you would need 5,000g to get it. So here are several tips on how you can make money in the Outlands preferably at level 70:

1] Ogres in Nagrand, are the way to go. They drop a good amount of silver (between 10-40) each time, and heaps of Netherweave, which sells handsomely in the AH.

2] Farm in South Netherstorm the Mana Seeker`s and Mage Slayer`s as they Drop a lot Mote of Mana which sells well.

3] Air Elementals up to the north east of the throne of elements in Nagrand for Primal Airs.

Personally I would encourage farming on the Ogres in Nagrand as you will be accomplishing three things at once: Making money, receiving Kurenai reputation, and if you collect the necklaces, you can turn that into the Consortium if you're friendly with them for even more reputation.

The other awesome spot is in Terokkar Forest (cords - 39, 9), there is a lake to the northwest of the area filled with eels, these eels drop motes of water/ mana like crazy! Well on my server Primal Waters are going for around 20-25g each, I've been farming these guys for motes for the past 3 days and already have enough money for my epic flying mount! The true beauty of this place.. these mobs have extremely low hp and armor and they were dead each time before even attacking me once since the Eels are only lvl 62-63.

I farmed the eels for exactly an hour last night. I found 30 motes of water. 20g worth of grey items and an eternium lockbox. I did have a few delays. I was playing at work so I lost about 5-6 minutes due to that and I drowned once because I wasnt paying attention. I'm a shadow priest so I used shadow fiend every 5 minutes and I never had to leave the water to drink. There were 2-3 others farming the eels so I had to make a few long swims across the lake to find more eels but usually it was non stop killing. I made about 80g/hr farming these guys. It's not the best money but it's easy and never having to recover mana makes it so much less boring.

Hi there Mike... so glad to hear you made money with it.

Well for someone like me with whisper nearly every 30secs when I am playing... 80g/hr is awesome! LOL!

Cheers & Thx for the visit!

Wow, great tips. Had been searching Google for several hours before stumbling upon your site. Went out and tried both the Mageslayer and the Eel strategies, worked great! 300g richer in a matter of 3 hours, and 900g from 5200g. :)

Yo Joseph! Its awesome to hear that you are so close to your target now. All the best man... and remember to help others too when you get the chance. :)

I have an other awsome farming place for motes of water. Around 85% drop rate and almost nobody there. It's the little (or big) mountain lake to the southeast in terrokar forest called Skettis. Lots of skettis surgers to kill. Thats where I made most of my money anyways. Just one problem. You need a flying mount to reach it! Just thought I would share it with you!
Cheers!

Hey Daryl, thanks for the tips! I'm currently level 67, closing in on the big 70 and I'm definitely gonna try these out. Was thinking of going for the eels, because of their low level, and for an Arms Warrior like me with a good crit chance it might result in non-stop killing=). And one more thing, which ogres in Nagrand do you suggest?

At March 1, 2007 at 1:31 AM, Blogger Daryl W.T. Lau

Gratz! Hope you get to 70 soon but don't rush it as I always find the journey to 70 is more unique than actually being a 70 if you know what I mean... LOL! For the ogres... I do not have a preference cause I only did it twice. I much prefer the eels :)

Cheers!

grinding the eels has proven quite successful as they die easily and create quite a bit of primal water however ive noticed that as the farming primals method has become more popular, the market has started to become swamped. Beyond that, seems alot of people are frugile with their money being as they all want to save for their epic, creating more problems for one whos trying to grind these. I guess thats just the nature of the game. Anyways thanks for the great tips and hopefully some of my primal waters will start selling

Trash & Pure cash = 22.5g
Greens dropped granted they sell at AH will amount to = 10-27g
Runecloth & Netherweave = 14.14g

and 50x of those beads = 1250rep with your desired faction.

I was killing in nagrand (74,63)

Skinners can also try the cobras in shadowmoon valley they sell for 20g+ each on my server and you can farm them while farming humaniods in the area for cash drops and greens including nether weave, dont have a high drop rate but most people are lucky and get a couple a hour

The eels don't seem to be dropping Motes of Water/Mana very much... did they nerf it possibly? Also, I'm a mage, does anyone know of any spots that would be good for AoE grinding money?

Wow! Thanks for this tip! I just bought my flying mount yesterday (regular one). Kinda wish I didn't. Should have just stashed that 1K towards the epic one... now I'm 4K short instead of 3K =(

I started farming the Ogres in Nagrand like you said. It is indeed the best farming spot. I get Kurenai rep per ogre killed, plus the Warbeads help me get rep with The Consortium (which I want to get to revered to get that gun as a hunter). Plus the stacks of netherweave easilyu go for 4g on my server... not to mention the trash they dropped. Plus I still got a boatload of quests to finish in Netherstorm and the entire Shadowmoon Valley, so I'm confident I'll get the 5K in no time.

Still, thanks for the tip about the ogres! I'm gonna try those eels tonight too.

Hi there Gill.. thx for the visit and warm compliments. Just as an update, it seems the Eels drop rate have dwindled lately... I can't confirm for sure if they nerfed it or just my poor run of luck. LOL!

Do let us know how you fared tho... Thanks a bunch!

Hey guys, Swiftstriker, level 70 Warrior here. I posted earlier also anonymous when I was 67 and longing to try this. Tried the eels, can't report on great results there as I forgot to bring underwater breathing pots.

Although, I did try the Mana Seeker's and Mageslayer's and it went great! In one hour of farming, I gathered 3 Primal Mana, which I set at AH for 80g. Cheapest on AH, undercutting by 3g.

I played for approximately 4 hours, started out with 550g, quested for 1h, played around a bit, boosting friends and such went farming for 1h max, then I found I had gained about 250g in that time. Considering 2 of those hours were just around in Elwynn and DM that's good progress to me.

Thanks for the sharing Anonymous... great to know how things are working out for everyone as different servers have their own unique economy.

In my experience the eels still have a very good droprate for motes of water. I got 6 in an hour last night.

At May 11, 2007 at 1:12 AM, Anonymous Anonymous

err I meant I got 6 primal water in an hour*

At May 11, 2007 at 11:37 PM, Anonymous Anonymous

Tried it for an hour and got:
5x Primal Water
1x Mote of Water
2x Random Green Items
7x Stacks of random Crystals

That's around 150g on my server^^

At September 18, 2007 at 11:13 PM, Anonymous Anonymous

I used to use the Terokkar lake to farm primal water to level up my tailoring, and have since ventured there purely to farm. Now that I have my second 70 alt well equipped, i think i may start saving for my epic flying mount. Another good farming spot i thought you guys might like to know about is Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley. I farmed there for 4 hrs last weekend, totally uninterrupted and made 150g cash after vendoring the greens, made 15 netherweave bags with the cloth (7g each in AH, equates to 105g), and the Aldor rep items are a godsend. 16*Fel Armament (10-12g each) and 250 Marks of Sargeras (about 1g each). So, 150+105+170+250 = 675g. not bad for 4 hrs work :)

At October 14, 2007 at 11:44 PM, Anonymous Anonymous

30 Minutes:

3 Primal Waters
20 Gold From random grey drops

Somewhere around 80 gold, not bad at all.

At October 30, 2007 at 4:12 PM, Blogger Ace

I farmed for 3 hours...

Gray Items - 55g

7 Primal Waters - 130g

Singing Crystal Axe - 1kg

Total = Around 1200g

Not bad, but I also got an epic drop.

70 Shadow priest here with Herbing. 72 elites in Skettis are AMAZING for herb farming if you can solo them. They drop around 10+ herbs each and around 5 primal lifes...There are 4 that wander around there and they have a pretty quick respawn rate (5-10 minutes) For classes without fear its very difficult to solo them. Also, your gear must be up to par as well.

Hope it helps!

Thx for the tips i like to kill the eels though because i'm a 70 rouge and i kill them in two hits thx again =D

At January 24, 2008 at 6:30 AM, Anonymous Anonymous

I farmed the eels, the mageslayers and mana seekers, and the ogres. I gatta say, I still make more money doing quests, about 100g an hour and that doesnt include drops and greens, its just purley the rewards for doing the quests. So I guess I will keeep questing for now. At least until I finish with netherstorm and shadowmoon valley. I would recommend to everyone else that I have not found any way to get gold faster than questing, if you have any left to do...Do them. Thank you though for the info, when I run out of quests I might come back and do this again. For me the highest profit I got from any of these were the mageslayers and mana seekers, with them I got almost 80g in one hour.

I tried farming the Mageslayers and Mana Seekers, but they're extremely frustrating since I can't mana tap them, arcane shot them, conc. shot them and so on. Droprates are great but they are simply too resistant.

Hey, thank you for the interesting page! I would like to add one thing that will make you a LOT of money if you do it well : Shadowmoon Valley questing.
If you haven't been SMV to lvl, it is the perfect place to make tons of money. There are like 3 dozens quests there, not many group Qs, and you can also do your netherwing preQ on the process, as well as BT preQ(although not necessary anymore.. 2.4).
In total, after about 2 days of questing(playing like 6 hours a day and going kinda slow), I've made 600g, in a totally 'non boring' way ;) It's much more exciting and fun qesting than killing elementals endlessly isn't it?

i farmed the eels last night for 1 hour and from the greys and greens that dropped i made 260g O_O and i obtained 4 primal water which on my server sells at 40g each so that was another 160g, my total in just 1 hour is an awesome 420g, at that rate i can have my epic in no time at all, seriously dude thanks for sharing this farming place, its by far the best in the game =D

At July 1, 2008 at 1:23 AM, Anonymous Anonymous

Another tip for making money,
Is that because good gear is so easily obtainable in outlands, it doesn't tend to sell very well. I often found myself forking out loads for auction house fee's and ending up with a mailbox full of greens.

I spoke to my enchanter friend who DE'd them all for free, got around 8 Greater Planar Essence and 1 Large Prismatic Shard (weird for a green!) and around 20 Arcane Essence,

I sold these for around 300g, and they were snapped up instantly ^.^

2k into my epic flyer fund, about to try the eels ^________^

Awesome guide man!

Another great way to make some cash, is to do dailies on the sunwell island. If you gather them up and do them in the right order, you can make about 100g a day. So if you do this, it takes an hour, then goto farming, you'll make lots of money.

At October 10, 2008 at 1:45 PM, Anonymous Anonymous

Personally, I am trying to get my epic flyer ASAP (though my total inability to save money is a little frustrating). My method is to do my dailies early in the day, then go farm the bog lords and giants in Zangarmarsh. Aside from the rep, this gets you a decent amount of motes of life, and if you are a high level herbalist or miner, you can mine nodes of fel iron that spawn all around the area, and you can also gather off the bog giant's corpses for some extra profit.

I tried the eel way today, I farmed for about 30 min, only managed to get about 4 primal water, which im sorry to say isnt very good profit for me, Im a level 73 dk, SO i kill the rather fast, Its just the ecomony is so messed up on my server they only go for about 10g per, so 80gish a hour, Decent cash but quest grinding seems to make me more, about 150-200gish hour questing in Northrend. I hope this info has helped fellow people looking to get there epic mount, I am currently 1900g off from my epic flyer, Good luck to all!

Hey guys im Volur lvl 48 hunter on Llane=] For me farming just isnt exciting enough so i decided to be a bit of a prick. I would link gear from the AH on trade chat that i could buy and soon people were giving me offers 5x as high as the price on the AH. Im lvl 48 and i made 3890 gold in three days. Believe me you have to try
