Whilst leveling at Deepholm, I've come to the following quest - Undying Twilight

While killing the mobs, I noticed that they have an infinite respawn timer, frequently drop embersilk cloth and greens (as well as a few silver) and only have to be tagged to get the loot while you let the npc's kill them for you. Great farming location for Enchanters and Tailors but bear in mind they do not give any exp at all.

At the end of the day, it's not exactly an exploit but it sure will help me with my tailoring and enchanting nicely and I hope it might help you guys too.

Savage Leather and Deepsea Scales, which are both very widely used mats for crafting Cataclysm's Leatherworking items. Well in Wetlands / Menethil Harbour, near the docks is several sharks named Harbor Shredfin of level 22 range which you can skin and apparently they have semi decent droprate while skinning for Savage Leather and Deepsea Scales.

Another even better spot if you bring along a skinner friend is in Eastern Plaguelands killing and skinning Landlocked Grouper. I went and tested out this spot with a friend, we noticed this spot has a forced spawn between the 2 sides of the bridge. So there is ALWAYS mobs to kill almost instantaneously.

As mentioned, this spot actually works a lot faster then the Menethil Harbour spot IF you have a skinner friend doing the other side of the bridge. You will Always have a mob in range to kill and few others to skin. Infact we were having problems managing to actually skin all the mobs we killed.

Other notable mobs that can be skinned for Savage Leather are:

Wetlands [Skinning Skill required: 105 - 115]
Harbor Shredfin
Ocean Shredfin

Thousand Needles [Skinning Skill required: 200 - 215]
Remora Scrounger
Barbed Gassgill

As most of you are aware, Blizzard have enabled flying mounts to be used in Wintergrasp when the battle is not active. I have recently been using this to my advantage by mining all the ores there! Here are some requirements needed:

1. 450 Mining
2. Patience & Time
3. Flying Mount (preferably Epic Flying)

The Wintergrasp territory consists of three different types of rocks or nodes:

1. Saronite Deposit
2. Rich Saronite Deposit
3. Titanium Vein

They are listed in order of least rare to rare.

Saronite Ore is worth about 15g a stack on my server. Titanium Ore, due to the mass need of the new epic gems is worth around 230g a stack on my realm.

Knowing this, this is how I manage to pull in a crap load of gold every hour.

First, I would start at the WG alliance base (when not having control of WG) and fly (Epic Mount) over this nice little route I have made from my experience mining.

Just follow the route above and you should get around 1 Stack of Saronite and maybe 3-10 individual ores of Titanium. I personally just keep going around that path for an hour, or until WG starts, when it starts I get the hell out of there and put my goods on the AH. I usually come away with this:

Around 5 - 10 stacks of saronite (75g-150g)
Around 1 - 2 stacks of Titanium
So it comes to around 400g an hour from selling all these ores.

Note: THIS MAY VARY WITH WHAT TYPE OF MOUNT YOU USE

I don't think this is AH dependent due to all the prices going up on Titanium, either way you're still making a huge profit.

One of my favorite things to do on off-days or just prior to the weekly server maintenance is to run Molten Core and BWL with a friend. Not only is it fun, but you can easily make a lot of gold while doing it! Here is what you will be farming or looking out for:

Molten Core

*Golemagg the Incinerator is a fairly simple boss that has a chance to drop 1-2 Sulfuron Ingot. On my server, these ingots go for around 900G as people still like to get the hand of ragnaros as a throphy. You and a friend should be able to get to him in a few minutes by timing your runs, swimming in some lava, and jumping off the bridge over him.

*Fiery Core has a pretty good chance of dropping off Firewalkers and other trash mobs is MC. On my server, these sell for about 70G each.

* Most of the bosses in MC can drop patterns and recipes for items/enchants which cannot be found anywhere else. Believe it or not, many of these are very rare and are worth quite a lot. In one run I got 2 enchanting recipes which I posted on the AH for 500G each or more. They sold within 2 hours. If you don't see the item in the AH, feel free to post it for a crazy price, there are always collectors that want it.

*Tier Collectors still exist in the game. In one full run, my friend and I got 6 BoE bracers/belts. Although these aren't worth as much as they were back at 60, I still manage to sell them for 80G each.

A Ret Paladin and Feral Druid should be able to clear every single boss in MC in 1-2 hours by self healing with JoL and SoL. Practically any class combos can do this and some well geared people can even solo the entire place.

Here are some basic strategies for 2 manning this thing:

Lucifron: Kill the adds then take down the boss
Magmadar: Tank and spank
Baron Geddon: Tank and spank, dispel mana drain and watch out for bombs.
Garr: Kill the adds and take down the boss
Gehennas: Kill adds then quickly burn boss down. If you cannot decurse, this will be hard, he reduces healing by 75%.
Golemagg the Incinerator: Tank adds while killing boss.
Shazzrah: Tank and spank
Sulfuron Harbinger: Nuke his healers, take out his adds, then burn boss.
Majordomo Executus: Kill his healers then the other adds. He will surrender after they die.
Ragnaros: Tank and spank, kill adds, tank and spank.

BlackWing Lair

For this, you will need a small group. I did it with 4 well geared people but you may need more. After you kill the first three bosses, you will face Firemaw. He can be a little tricky so you can leave him up if you want, just pull when he is on his patrol. Blackwing Technicians have a 12% chance to drop Elementium Ore. On my server, the ore sells for 250G a piece. If you pull a group of technicians, kill all of them but 1, and jump off the ledge and run out of the instance, the surviving technician will run back and the group will respawn. Simply run back and loot the ones you killed then repeat the process. The beauty of this is that you can 1-2 man depending on your class. I usually ask my party to skip them then return with a friend to farm them. You can sell a stack of Elementium Ore for 5000G on my server.

Although there are better ways of making money, I personally have a lot more fun running these old instances and the gold isn't bad either. Granted, a lot of it depends on your server and luck. Happy farming!

This is a work in progress guide to the various locations to farm eternals. I am going to focus on the best farming spots to farm all types of Eternals (Fire, Earth, Life, Shadow, Water) since they are high in demand:

Best Place to Farm Eternal Fire
If you want to farm Eternal Fire, the best place to do this is at 85,73 in Wintergrasp. Kill the Flame Revenants there. This is sometimes a heavy farming spot so you may want to come here during non-peak hours. There are also Raging Flames in this area...They don't drop crystallized fire as often as the Flame Revenants do but it's worth killing them while you are waiting for the flame revenants to respawn. Another good method is via Engineering cloud farming.

Best Place to Farm Eternal Life
The best place to farm Eternal Life is at 9,59 in Wintergrasp. Kill the Living Lashers there. If you use your tab key it will help you to farm these a lot easier.

Best Place to Farm Eternal Shadow
The best place to farm Eternal Shadow is at 17,50 in Wintergrasp. Kill the Shadow Revenants there as well as the Wandering Shadows. This can sometimes be a farely competitive farming spot so try to come here in non-peak hours. If you are a miner (which I highly recommend to make quick and easy gold), spend most of your time mining saronite...You will get TONS of eternal shadow this way.

Best Place to Farm Eternal Water
These are probably some of the easier eternals to farm as there are tons of mobs for these spread all over wintergrasp. The best place to farm Eternal Water is to patrol from 29,46 to 69,52. These mobs are in a huge C shape in Wintergrasp... Kill both the Glacial Spirits and the Water Revenants here.

Best Place to Farm Eternal Air
The best place to farm Eternal Air is in the southern region of Wintergrasp (patrolling from 22,63 to 68,73. Kill both the Tempest Revenants and Whispering Winds in this area.

Best Place to Farm Eternal Earth
The best place to farm Eternal Earth is at 71,58 in The Storm Peaks. Kill the Brittle Revenant there. This can sometimes be a competitive farming spot, if it is, go kill the Lifeblood Elementals in Scholazar Basin at 70,56. If you are a miner (which I highly recommend to make quick and easy gold), spend most of your time mining saronite...You will get TONS of eternal earth this way.

Deppending on your server, farming different Eternals can be better for you. For example, Eternal Fire is the best selling Eternal in AH at the moment on my server.

Have you found a spot that works well for you besides the above mentioned locations?

The Great Feast
The Great Feast is an extremely effective and helpful way to provide food buffs to your raid, second only to Fish Feast as far as raid food quality is concerned. This guide is written mainly with Horde in mind but applies to Alliance as well but with different flight-paths.

Also, if you are a skinner you'll love getting the ingredients for this feast. I usually get between 60-100 Borean Leather each time I farm for 20 of these on my rogue.

Assumptions
• You are level 80
• You can do some form of AoE (this will only affect timing, not the mobs or locations)
• That you are farming for a full stack of feasts (i.e. 20 total feasts)

Ingredients
Chunk o' Mammoth x20
Shoveltusk Flank x20
Worm Meat x20
Chilled Meat x40

Guide

Obtain: Shoveltusk Flank
Starting from Dalaran, get on the flight plan to New Agamand. Once there, mount up and ride along the coast south of Westguard Keep (Alliance Town). Every 40-70 yards there will be 4-7 Shoveltusks.

The mobs you will be killing are:
• Shoveltusk Calf (lvl 63-68)
• Shoveltusk Stag (lvl 64-69)
• Shoveltusk (lvl 63-68)

They are very low level so you should have no trouble blowing through them. Expect to spend about 10 minutes or so of killing to get 20 flanks. Once you have all the flanks, turn around and go back to the Westguard flight point. From there, take a bird to either Dun Niffelem or K3 for the Worm Meat.

Obtain: Worm Meat

Make your way to the cave where you get the oil for the Helm quest at Hodir. There are a reasonable number of mobs here with a fairly consistent repop rate. This will take longer then the Shoveltusk or Mammoth, mostly because you are single killing targets a lot of the time. I would say 15-20 minutes depending on luck and whether others are farming.

The mob you will be killing is:
• Ravenous Jormungar

At this point you have two options: You can either head outside of the cave and kill the roaming mammoths or (and this is what I do) you can hearth to Dalaran and get on the flight path to Borean Tundra.

Obtain: Chunk o' Mammoth

I choose to go to the Tundra for three reasons. First, there are tons of Mammoth there. Second, I can blow through 40 Mammoths in the time it would take me to kill 10 in Storm Peaks and wait on the repops. Third, I can kill until I get my mammoth meat, walking North as I kill and then I get dumped right in the Basin for the Chilled Meat. Saves time.

The mobs you will be killing are:
• Mammoth Calf
• Wooly Mammoth
• Wooly Mammoth Bull

20 Chunks o' Mammoth should take approximately 5 minutes.

From here, walk right into the Basin and kill everything there. They all drop Chilled Meat and you'll get your 40 needed extremely quickly.

And there it is, you have the ingredients needed to food buff your raid. It takes me about 35-45 minutes including travel time to get all of these ingredients. In addition, you can make a handsome income once again if you are a skinner.

Basically, there is a cave where worms are in Storm Peaks. (coords 47,55)

Well there are Worgs there that killed by the Worms, this is important because they spawn in a pair.

Once you kill the worms the spawn rate of the Worgs is totally insane. After a couple of minutes, it becomes an instant respawn between the four spots.

So you just run around the begging of the cave (as shown in the screenshot) and never run out of mobs, and besides Borean Leather, they do drop Artic Fur as well.

Here are the 4 locations:

I guess it would also be an awesome place for grinding too since you will experience no downtime between mobs.

Eternal Fires are far more expensive on the AH than any other eternals because they aren't as easily obtained just by merely mob farming. As a result of this, they normally go for 40-50g on the AH. The map below is going to assist engineers in making their farming of steam clouds a little bit easier by following the path shown.

What your going to be doing is farming Crystallized Fire and Crystallized Water off the Steam Clouds in Sholazar Basin. Your map of Sholazar should look like this if you did it properly:

Eternal Fire Farming

I personally followed the path shown above over a 1 hour period and I managed to obtain 108 Crystallized Fire and 37 Crystallized Water. So in total 10 Eternal Fire and 3 Eternal Water which netted me 486g all together after selling them on the AH while selling them at a slight price reduction compared to the competition. Happy Eternal Fire farming folks!

Firstly in order to do this, you need to be Horde (sorry to my treasured alliance readers). Then preferably you have a Healer and a couple of AOE'ers along if you are not level 80.

There's a quest in storm peaks called Sniffing out the Perpetrators.

Start this quest, then mount the tiger next to Khaliisi, but immediately dismount. Do this rapidly for about 10-20 times or more if you can handle them. This will spawn a massive stream of these Stormforged Pursuers.

After spawning, they will start chasing the stream of cats that you are spawning, then turn around and go for the person who spawned them (which is you).

wotlk aoe farming

Basically, they're super easy to kill, deal almost no damage, drop 20 silver each, Frostweave Cloth, occasional greens and even epics and also some experience as well. So if you are a level 80 and planning to farm here, bring along a non-level 80 friend for some free exp. Then all you have to do is to just pick them all up and aoe them down, you'll probably need a healer and an AOE'er for this, but depending on your spec you may be able to solo grind them.

The gold per hour you can make using this is totally insane, I hope it's useful to someone.

I've found another great spot for Frostweave Cloth farming. The thing about this spot is that it's an "event" for a quest, so just keep this event going in order for the mobs to just keep respawning. Location can be seen below (click to enlarge map) :

The mobs here have a great drop rate of Frostweave Cloth, money and random greens.

Here's a video to show where to stand and prove just how insanely fast their respawn rate is:

Obviously this place would benefit more for AOE classes or DoT classes.

This is a very simple way of farming Jormungar Scales without putting too much effort into it. The scales are used for Jormungar Leg Armor. Crafting the leg enchant is an easy and cheap way to raise your leatherworking skill.

The Trick

You would want to pick up the quest "Hard to Swallow". This allows you to throw dynamite into the mouth of the worms.

Step-by-step guide

* Grab the quest and head over to the elite Hulking Jormungar spawns.

* Nuke the mob down to ~75% and throw the dynamite when the mob beings to falter.

* Wait for it to explode and skin it.

* Rinse and repeat.

Farming them is very easy and there is more than enough mobs to go by.

First and foremost, you would need to be an Engineer with a Mote Extractor in order to do this. Head over to the north of Howling Fjord where you can find them at the 3 lakes where the mote clouds spawns quite often.

You can easily obtain between 30-40 primals in an hour if you are the only one there. For the exact location, kindly view the map below:

Crystallized Air

Update: 25th Nov 2008
Crystallized Water Farming Spot

Frozen Earth mobs around here drop 1-2 crystallized water every single kill. The exact spot is highlighted on the map below (kindly click map for enlarge view).

Co-ords are 54,47 in Zul'Drak

Make sure you go during a time when less people are doing their daily's as you can easily chain pull the mobs faster and then kill them. So obviously some classes are better suited than others. It is also very fast paced so you won't get bored quickly... well at least for a few weeks.

The boat location if you choose to swim there can be seen on this map:

With a Fire Mage, I managed to obtain the following in just 1 hour:
260+ netherweave
7 tomes
136 signets
1 blue
5 greens
about 35g in Junk

That is approximately 300 gold per hour on my server. In the course of doing this for several weeks, I've also made a lot more from blue/recipe/formula drops but my average is about 250g/hour at the very least depending on how many people are there as well.

To start off, let me state that this requires some planning and the right combination of players to attempt this. That being said, it is still very much worth all the effort. Here's what you need to arrange:

- 15-25 well geared People in Raid
- Kalecgos must be already be dead
- Brutallus must be still alive
- Shattrath to Sunwell Isle portal to be Effective

Why Are We Killing Trash Mobs Again and Again?
When you ask this question you probably didn't saw the awesome trashmob drops in Sunwell Plateau. Awesome recipes, Epic Gems, Sunmotes, and some very very nice epic Items on a pretty good drop rate!

What Specific Trash Are We Targetting?
Well, the group of mobs we are aiming for is the 6-BloodElf-Group before Brutallus, right after Kalecgos platform. Every 2 hours there will be one big Sunwell Protector you need to get rid off, but that isn't the problem.

How To Kill This Group Over And Over Again?
Be sure to bring some mages along. A total of 4 would be the best strategy. Sheep 4 of the mobs, kill the first two ones. After this kill 3 Sheeps one at a time and then leave one sheep behind. Walk with the raid slightly back to Kalecgos platform. One mage uses invisibility to get out of combat and makes portal to Shattrath. Everyone goes through it. If everyone is out this trash pack resets which means new possible fresh loot all over again.

Now use the Shattrath portal to go back to Sunwell Isle and enter Sunwell Plateau again. Use the teleport to get up to Kalecgos platform, mark the group again, kill, leave one sheep behind and so on... for as long as you want. Just remember to never kill the entire pack!

We are doing this with my guild pretty often and we're so fast, we kill and re-enter the instance again in almost 4-5 minutes with a really good droprate on Epics and Patterns!

Large Prismatic Shard has always been a hot commodity in the game due to its various usage in enchanting, blacksmithing and engineering profession. A great way to obtain this is by disenchanting rare items above level 66 especially those obtained through instance runs. Unfortunately doing this requires a large investment of your time for just a few shards.

A faster method to obtain Large Prismatic Shards is via crafted rare items. Here I shall list 3 items which materials required to craft is generally cheaper than the average price of a Large Prismatic Shard especially if you have the corresponding gathering profession.

Engineering - Cogspinner Goggles
The schematic can be purchased from faction town in Hellfire Peninsula.
Reagents Required:
4 x Heavy Knothide Leather
2 x Blood Garnet
8 x Arcane Dust

Tailoring - Arcanoweave Bracers
The pattern is a rare drop from Arcatraz Sentinel at The Arcatraz instance.
Reagents Required:
6 x Bolt of Netherweave
12 x Arcane Dust
2 x Rune Thread

Jewelcrafting - Thick Felsteel Necklace
This design is a rare world drop item which makes it the hardest of all 3.
Reagents Required:
2 x Felsteel Bar
3 x Mercurial Adamantite

A very easy way to get to exalted with either Honor Hold or Thrallmar can be done via this method. Make sure you have a strong group who are aware of the objective before heading out as you will be sacrificing loots for rep.

Location: Hellfire Ramparts. Heroics or Normal.

Who: Vazruden and his mount, Nazan. The last boss of the instance.

Important object of interest:
Vazruden's War-Horn (pic on the right). The horn was added to the ledge of the last boss's spawning point, since there are many ways to kill him and some were causing him to despawn incorrectly.

The Exploit:
After you have killed Vazruden and his mount, you have several seconds (exact time unconfirmed) before the chest with the loot spawns, and you are unable to do this exploit.

After you have slain the two bosses, quickly run to the horn (you can't miss it) and click. Make sure your group is in on it!

This will respawn Vazruden as he was before you killed him- IE, with his mount. He will agro the same he did when you killed his Watchers.

The Result:
An almost limitless source of Reputation with Honor Hold or Thrallmar, with any good group.

Kindly note that once the chest is spawned, you will be unable to re-summon the boss.

* FIXED AS OF 2.2 PATCH

My friends and I were making about 7,000 rep an hour using this method.

When exalted you can go grab a bag of gem each month at the Nagrand outpost (31,52). Our first bag had 4 blue and 2 green gems.

Ideally, you need the following group setup:

1 tank with 200+ arcane resist
1 healer
2-3 dps (works better if melee or hunter)

Here's how to do it:

Go to Mana-Tombs heroic with your group.
You have to clear your way to the first room where the boss is standing.
Kill everything except for 2 of the Ethereal Sorcerer.

Now, when you enter that room, on your left there is a big chunk of floor that is going up, like a ramp. Get your tank to grab the 2 sorcerers and tank the behind that big ramp, so that their spells won't affect the rest of the party.
But the tank needs to be in LoS from the healer standing on the other side.
Once the tank has enough initial aggro, he has to un-equip his weapon and spam Demo shout.

What happens is that the sorcerers will summon 2 small adds about every 10-15 seconds. The healer will get aggro from theses adds and they will come toward him, thats where the dps takes them down, they have very little hp, something like 4k. Be careful as they AoE explode for quite a bit and the bad part.. they aoe silence.. Thats why dps has to intercept them before they get to the healer.

You can all exit the instance if the hp of the sorcerers gets too low in order to reset them to 100%

Each add gives 15 consortium rep. 4 of them spawn each 10-15 seconds which means it is very possible to obtain Exalted within a few hours if your group sticks together.

Enjoy!

Obtaining a Nether Drake mount is a must to many as it looks truly awesome. In order to shorten the time, hunting for Netherwing Eggs is a well known method but getting them is another story altogether. As each egg gives out equivalent to some of the daily quests (250 rep per turn in), it can shorten the entire process fairly quickly.

Here are the coordinates for Netherwing Egg spawns which does not include those from mining or herbing of course.

69, 88 (bottom of ramps in big room)
64, 87 (mine entrance, right by a box)
75, 86 (in mine, flayer area, back in cove)
71, 80 (in mine, by flayers)
66, 82 (in mine, by waterwheel)

Netherwing Ledge
66, 91 (edge of shelf, behind crystals)
68, 94 (on island on south of shelf)
65, 84 (right in camp, by racers)
68, 81 (on top of hill)
78, 83 (side of cliff, down in a little crevace)
66, 91 (don't remember, first egg I found)
65, 84 (on top of crystal)
71, 86 (on top of mountain, by den mother)
77, 85 (on top of mountain)
63, 82 (on ground, beneath crystal)

First of all, you must be a herbalist, or your friend has to be a herbalist.

Go to Skettis (Southeast in Terrokar Forrest). Around the lake, Talonsworn Forest-Ragers patrol. There are 2 up at a time, and respawn roughly 2-4 minutes after you kill one. They do not drop anything special, but this is where the herbalism comes into play. After you kill them, you can Herb them, which yields the following:

2 sets of 2-4 herbs which can be any of these - Felweed, Dreaming Glory, Mana Thistle, Terocone, Ancient Lichen, and Black Lotus... Yes... Black Lotus.

IT GET'S BETTER! Every time you herb them you also get 2-5 Motes of Life!!! On my server, Motes of life sell for 12-15 gold each. And most of the herbs sell for 20-30g a stack, as well as Black lotus selling for 10-15g each.

These Trees CAN be soloed because they can be stunned / feared, but is very hard if your not ranged. I am a Rogue in full kara / gruul epics and I have a hard time, so i bring along a friend to help. I give him 25% of what i make.

The beauty of this is that you can kill them in 2-3 minutes tops, and they have an extremely fast respawn time for a great farming session!
